Band Roles

 

	Paul is the Musical Director of Premium Banana.  He is  a man of many parts (only some of them working) as he is also the guitarist, lead and backing vocalist, occasional bass guitarist, sound and recording engineer and technical guru!
	Since 1979, Paul  has also written, played and recorded with the band ‘Trace’.  He has also played guitar or sound-engineered  for live band ‘Turnham Green Blues Band’, and the live show bands ’Underdog’ and ‘Fusionz’.
	As a recording and sound and SFX engineer, he has worked with many live events, shows, and bands of different types.
	Paul runs Dr Jekyl Mobile Recording, which specialises in location recording of brass bands, orchestras, schools, choirs, folk, jazz, and rock bands.
	Paul also acts a bit and has been involved in theatre and show productions, both in singing and straight roles. He has performed in "Barnum", "Round & Round The Garden", "Party Piece",  and "Fiddler on the Roof", as Henry VIII in "Henry Hereafter", as Mr. Emanuelli in "Once A Catholic" as Clive in "Love Begins at Fifty", and as "Butch", the murderer in "Spot The Lady" - a burlesque spoof of MacBeth.
	He played the role of Alfred Locke in a February 2008 production of Lionel Bart's musical Blitz!  where he was is also part of the Musical Director team.   In 2007 he played Horace Vandergelder in the well-loved musical, "Hello, Dolly!".  Recently he has also played Frank Butler in "Annie Get Your Gun" and  Wang Chi Yang in the Rodgers & Hammerstein musical "Flower Drum Song".
	Paul was  the  Musical Director and Orchestra Leader for the Community of Hungerford town show for  four shows:- 2003-2004 Production (Happy As A Sandbag) - Musical Director, Band Leader, Sound Designer and Rigger. 2002-2003 Production (Salad Days) - Musical Director, Tim's Father, Uncle Clam, Chorus , Sound Designer and Rigger. 2001-2002 Production (Scrooge) Musical Director and orchestra leader.  Sound Designer and Rigger. 2000-2001 Production (Oliver!) Musical Director and orchestra leader.  Sound Designer and Rigger.
	Paul is married to a very understanding (and talented) wife and they have two talented daughters.

	Paul plays a Teal green Fender Deluxe American Fat Stratocaster guitar and a black Line 6 Variax 700 modeling guitar into a Line 6 Vetta Combo amp and extension cabinet.
	Also plays a Yamaha JG-12CE Mini Jumbo 12-String Guitar and Squier Precision Bass  when required.
