Richard started playing
classical piano at the age of 5, but like many others he only started
truly enjoying it once he’d moved on to the world of real music! .......
Hearing the piano accompaniment on Bridge Over Troubled Water was his
breakthrough. |

Richard lives near Kingsclere
with his wife and two young children together with a drum set, upright
piano, harmonica, guitar, and keyboards. These are all played with
enthusiasm but with varying degrees of accuracy. |

Premium Banana has given
Richard the chance to rediscover his love for listening to, and playing,
popular R & B numbers. It has also provided him with an opportunity
that he thought would never present itself to him when he was a 9 year old
listening to his favourite band – The Monkees ........... Namely, playing
keyboards on I'm A Believer! |

Richard joined the Bananas in
Spring 2005. He was attracted by the songs played and he is never happier than
when he sees people dancing and singing along to them at gigs, knowing
that they’re having as much fun as he is! He can normally be seen
towards the rear of the stage, singing along enthusiastically, but in a
different key to the one he’s playing.
Note: the
band has not placed a microphone anywhere near him. In fairness it
has to be pointed out that, after considerable audience feedback, the band
has not placed vocal mics near any of the rhythm section. |
